10 Reasons Why I Love Trader Joe’s
Posted by Mrs Zeee on 04/16/2009
If you have never been to Trader Joe’s, I highly recommend you check it out (assuming you are one of the lucksters who has a TJ within driving distance)

If you have already been, then you probably already sing its praises so no need to read any further. Go ahead, carry on with your day…
Here are the top 10 reasons — among all 8 million — why I love Trader Joe’s.
And please note that this is NOT a sponsored posting:
10. I herd, did you?
I follow the herd yet I still feel like an individual. This applies on many levels for the TJ fan, but mostly it is a reference to the neat way the store is organized as if it encourages you to follow one path; one journey. It’s like a Disney attraction, minus the theme song but complete with the option to spend plenty of dough as you exit the ride.
9. The OG-G: Original “Green” Grocer
The dudes over at Trader Joe’s have been singing the green song way before Al Gore began making movies. These guys define earth-friendly and other grocers have a lot to learn from them.
8. On the Radio
Have your heard their radio announcements? They are simple, honest and to-the-point. No silly jingles or funny sound effects: Click here to choose your state and listen to your local advertisement: http://www.traderjoes.com/radio_ads.html
7. Bag and Brag
TJ has a commitment to promoting the re-usable grocery bag. I got the message and now I associate TJ more than any other store, with a reminder to bring my own tote. (patting myself on the back while typing)
6. Big Fat Greek Yogurt
There’s not much to say except that I am addicted to this stuff in pomegranate (when it’s in stock) and blueberry. It is all natural and I recognize every ingredient on the label. Plus, it’s low in carbs. Opa!
5. Holy Cheese
Who knew a small space could house such an impressive array of cheeses? I am half tempted to bring a glass of dry wine and pony-up to the cheese case for an impromptu tasting. But somehow I don’t think the manager would appreciate that.
4. Free samples
Who doesn’t love free samples? Especially when they are pouring mini-cups of the delicious TJ coffee to get me through the afternoon.
3. Customer is Queen
The staff is friendly and efficient. What is the secret? Maybe they attended Disney’s “happy-school.” I am seeing a trend here…
2. Read the flyer
There are 3 things I look forward to reading from my snail mail: In Style Magazine, my local town newspaper and the TJ flyer. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself — this is compelling content: http://www.traderjoes.com/flyer_region_select.asp
1. FINALLY!
I FINALLY have one within 3 miles of my home!!
