Friday Frustration: Misleading Headlines
Posted by Mrs Zeee on 05/01/2009
Maybe I am just being picky but one thing that really irks me are misleading news headlines… I feel like this, my first Frustration Friday (thanks to Maria @ Conversations With Moms) is the perfect time to vent…
In this media-frenzied world it seems like publishers are doing anything they can to grab you with a headline, no matter how insane.
Here is one I saw recently on yahoo.com that really ticked me off:
So, you think it’s big news, right? Wrong.
Check it out.

When you click through, the ACTUAL story is that a magazine accidentally airbrushed one of the star’s legs out of the cover photo.
BIG FREAKIN’ DEAL!?!
What a complete and total waste of my time and initial sympathies for the poor, photo-challenged starlet.
I will never get those 30 seconds of my life back.
Grrr!

Actually I thought the story would be that the amount of weight she lost would equal a leg or arm or something………..
just my sick little mind……..

I soo totally agree! There are more important things that need the media’s attention! That is frustrating, I feel like that towards our local media too!
Anyway, TGIF right, and how great of Maria to create a wonderful meme right? :) Looking forward to next week.. :)
