title pic STS: When my mind wandered in class, I was thinking…

This  week’s Small Talk Six topic addresses what we’ve always wondered about teachers/professors when we were in school…What a fun topic!

If you think about it, we spend hours of our lives staring at teachers as they spew seemingly endless streams of knowledge our way. Every once in a while, minds wander and instead of focusing on The Great Gatsby or math equations, I found myself thinking:

1. Do all elementary school teachers shop at the same store: Long-Floral-Skirts-R-Us?

2. Why does every female gym teacher I’ve ever had sport a bowl haircut and knobby knees… Is that in the job description or something?

3. At what point in his life was the drama teacher rejected by Broadway and resolved to recreate it on the high school stage?

4. Where do all of those cool little metallic star stickers come from and how can I get a stash? I loved seeing those on my exam papers next to a big, fat A+!

5. Allowing 16 year olds to handle hydrochloric acid without gloves and goggles was definitely not a safe move, Mrs Chemistry teacher.

6. Did my 6th period art instructor really think we couldn’t smell the marijuana on his vest and see his red eyes? We were high school kids for cryin’ out loud!

Gotta love it…
