Let me just second that by saying - and I'm not usually serious, so you can imagine me getting choked up over here - that my Grandmother, my last living grandparent, died on Mother's Day last year. Spent Mother's Day morning hunting down a priest (on a SUNDAY), participating in Last Rites and checking her pulse when she stopped breathing.

NO, you can't "call her later", my friends, because later she could be dead. CALL. YOUR. GRANDMOTHER.

Send her flowers. Take her to lunch. Yes, in public. Yes, she will behave oddly. So will you someday.

I know she's a pain in the ass. But she's probably the only Grandmother you have and will EVER have.

Great thoughts, not just for Mother's Day, but for everyday.
We should all take the time and reflect on the many blessings we all have in life....and not take them for granted.
