FF: No Phony Baloney!

First I’d like to apologize to Maria who hosts Friday Frustrations — I am not sure this post is what she had in mind for the meme, but I have to get it off my chest because it frustrates me to no end…So, here it goes.

I CAN’T STAND WHEN PEOPLE CHEW FOOD AND DRINK WHILE I AM ON THE PHONE WITH THEM!!!

There, I said it.

phonefiid The sounds of gulping or lip-smacking makes me absolutely cringe. It sounds so exaggerated when you’re on the phone and it feels like the person on the other end is eating or drinking right in my ear. Too close for comfort!

Some of the biggest culprits are my loved ones. And I would never ask them to change their behavior but I will ask them to understand when I feel the need to exit the conversation FAST.

I know that it is MY PROBLEM to deal with so I usually excuse my self as soon as I hear it, maybe they’ll get the hint at some point…

On a similar note, (and while I’m at it) I’ll add that I can’t watch movies where meal-time scenes include chewing sounds and forks and knives clinking against teeth. I have to cover my ears and wait for the scene to end. Sure, I can watch horror movies without a hitch but show a good ol’ family dinner on the big screen and I shiver…

I know, I’m weird…right?

Am I? It’s ok if you think so, you can tell me… I can take it….I think.

Or else, I’ll just hang up the phone really fast — no hard feelings :)

Just as bad, to me, is smoking on the telephone. It’s usually old people who do it anymore, but STILL.

I understand. It is a little distracting. No apology needed. This meme is about any kind of Frustration including the food kind. LOL.

My pet peeve, and it’s been happening a lot lately, is people talking on cell phones in public restrooms. I feel like I’m being rude if I flush the toilet because then it will be obvious to the person on the other end of the phone that the person they’re talking to is, um, multi-tasking.

I can so relate to you Mrs. Zeee, I can’t stand talking to people who are eating on the phone.. I think that it’s just rude to do so, they can just tell you to call back or something right? It’s fine for me to watch it on tv or something, but I can’t stand it when people eat and then talk to me on the phone, I find myself ending the conversation fast as well..

Oh, I think everyone is weird in a good way.. :)
