Horror Flicks Get Me Every Time

Have you ever seen the movie “I am Legend” with Will Smith?
I saw it in theaters when it came out in ‘07 and since I have caught it on TV several times… For some reason, every time I see it, it scares me over and over again… and I am so annoyed every time I fall for it.
Here’s the deal: me and scary movies don’t mix.
I hate gory horror flicks and I am not one for thrillers either. I find them stressful. I don’t like heartpounding (well, in this case anyway) and I have no desire to leave the theater looking over my shoulder for axe murderers, zombies or a nightmare-inducing pedophile in an old striped shirt.
If I spend my money at the movies, I’d like to learn or at the very least, LAUGH.
I blame my husband for the horror flicks I have actually seen — he’s dragged me to all of them — kicking and screaming — ok, not really but I can easily be bought by a large tub of popcorn and diet coke!
(Did I mention I have a terrible long term memory?)
Anyway, I just saw I am Legend AGAIN tonight and no matter how many times I watch the stupid thing, I find myself in a state of anxiety (lame because it’s not even one of the GREAT thrillers).
So I got to wondering which are my all-time scariest movies, so I figured I’d share:
1) The Exorcist: I know I am in good company here.
2) Seven: I find the “unfolding” of the plot terrifying
3) Silence of the Lambs: Still can’t watch end scene with both eyes open
4) I am Legend: I think it’s the premise — it’s unrealistic, or is it?
5) Taken: Shudder, shudder and another shudder
6) Event Horizon: I never really got it, but I lost sleep over this one for a while.
7) Open Water: I wish I never saw this.
8) Saw – Hate them, all of them. Last time I went to see these movies, I walked out and left my husband there after the first 3 minutes. I went next door to watch Bee Movie instead. I am such a chicken!!
Anyway, it’s ok to laugh at my list, I can take it… but can you?
Which movies have you double-bolting your bedroom door?

I’m a chicken when it comes to any movie that has to do with Possessions or evil spirits. Probably because I believe in the probability of ghosts and the after life. I tend to even avoid watching them.

Maybe it’s a mindset in general…I can’t watch Fried Green Tomatoes because EVERY time Evelyn walks into Mrs. Threadgoode’s nursing home room and it’s empty? I LOSE IT. I KNOW she’s not dead, but I cry myself sick.
