STS: American Movie CLASSICS!
Posted by Mrs Zeee on 07/04/2009
Patriotic films come in man forms. This week’s small talk six asks us to list 6 of our fave patriotic films and so here are my choices for movies that make me proud to be an American.
1) Forrest Gump (this movie is like a refresher course in modern American history)
2) The Patriot (even though it was a carbon copy of Braveheart, I still give Mel credit for some moving scenes)
3) Amistad (i love this film. although it is mostly centered on the story of the slave ship, nothing is better than the ending where our judiciary system finally pulls through.)
4) Oklahoma (the rogers & hammerstein musical that i can watch over and over again and never get tired of — except for the weird dream sequence that i usually fast forward thru)
5) Annie (what’s there not to love?)
6) Glory (denzel — nuff said)

I love your list. Annie is one of my all time favorites. My daughter walks around the house singing “Tomorrow!” all the time.
